Program Description and Objectives
Addiction to psychoactive substances is currently a fairly widespread health problem in Poland. However, behavioral disorders, commonly known as behavioral addictions, have only recently become a topic of discussion in Poland. The problem of addiction to gambling, work, the Internet or shopping affects a relatively large group of Poles. Research indicates that the problem of using, and subsequently addicted to, psychoactive substances and propensity for risky behavior begins at a young age. Therefore, it is justified to include the general population in preventive measures, with particular emphasis on children and adolescents, in order to prevent the initiation of the use of specific stimulants and to early recognize symptoms indicating the occurrence of addiction.
